Fried chicken wasn’t too bad. The fragrance was too good for our patience. We had to order 1 while I was waiting for my mee jawa. Though the meat was a bit dried but the crispy skin was nice.

... I was told that this mee jawa was nice. Decided to give it a try since this place was on the way home.

The mee jawa was kinda sucked. The noodle tasted like alkaline and the whole thing tasted weird to me.

My cup of black jelly soya bean wasn’t sweet enough. Soya milk taste was pretty runny, making it rather tasteless. As for the kaya butter toast, it wasn’t even comparable to Uncle Lim’s toast. Lacked of any kaya and butter taste. The only thing nice was the bread was actually crispy. Though that doesn’t warrant a second chance. The Jawa Mee was bad. It was salty. The good stuff was, there were plenty of crispy crackers and it was served hot. The Vietnamese noodle, as according to TSL, it was sour and very salty. I’ve always thought Vietnamese noodle supposed to be sour and sweet. Hmmm…

Stuff to avoid: today’s items, all of them.

Went to dinner with ALGJ and LGFL. Managed to drag MSF out as well since our destination was nearby to her office. Parking was easy as I was able to spot 2 empty spaces just outside the food court.

I’ve always thought the nicer ABC stall was the one at the corner, but MSF told me that the usual nice one that she usually has was from the stall where I used to have my cendol previously. It was pretty nice, especially the brown sugar’s taste. Though I wished it was less sweet but there is rarely any ABC that is less sweeter than this. The shaved iced was very fine, which melts evenly in the mouth and it wouldn’t lacerate the tongue as well.

I didn’t particularly liked the fried tofu but it wasn’t bad either. The outer layer was very crispy and the content didn’t spill as well. Taste wise was nothing to shout about. On the other hand, cuttlefish with water spinach was pretty amazing. The similar type of food that I have everywhere else has runny sauce, but this one, the sauce was thick and there were generous amount of peanut powder. The spinach didn’t watered down the sauce either. I guess it was properly dried after being poached. Worth coming back for as I don’t find anything similar to this anywhere else.

Despite how nice ALGJ said the mee jawa was, I was glad I didn’t order this the previous time I was here. Not that it sucked, but it wasn’t nice either. There were plenty of bean sprouts, almost as much as the noodle. The gravy was nothing awesome, though the crispy crackers were something to crave for.

Went to Well Cook Gourmet Restaurant for lunch today. TSL has been nitpicking on my diet and she wouldn’t allow me to have anything which was even slightly against my strict diet. So she suggested this place as there are stuff that I could eat.

I guess aside from the fried laksa, I guess the 2nd best thing would be the mee Jawa. This was the first time I actually had it all by myself. I had only tried the gravy last time and I find it quite nice. Well, consistent to its flavour, it was quite nice too this time. Except, I would prefer it to have a least some crispy crackers like those served in my hometown.
