AC told me about the nice fried rice at Canai Cafe. So tonight, after waiting for him to reach my office for so many hours, we finally made it to Canai & Such Cafe in SS15. Previously, before there was this shop, it was called Ravi’s Corner, Canai & Such. Located on the green field not too far from the current spot. The place was famous for its nasi lemak back then where Steven’s Corner was still at its prime.

I admit, I had my reserve on how nice the fried rice could be when AC told me about it. As I’ve never actually tasted a really nice fried rice in Klang Valley, ever. It took them a while before the fried rice were placed on our table. The fragrance was so good, I was immediately hungry again. The taste was good, it could easily be the best fried rice I’ve had in Klang Valley, after all these years. AC’s fried rice with lamb was good too. I’d definitely want to have his next time. The tom yam though, wasn’t that great. I preferred Vicchuda‘s tom yam, which wasn’t sweetened like this one.

A place that I’ll definite revisit for its fried rice. The good thing about this place was, it’s near to my office.

I’ve extended my invitation to PCL to go try out this place somewhere last week. But due to her tight schedule, we have to postponed it. I finally got hold of her this week and fortunate for me, I still remembered that this was the place that I said I wanted to go. Hence we get to go today. When I looked at the menu, they have dishes like those in restaurant where you order your dishes to go with your rice. Anyhow, with just the 2 of us, we were better off just go with those personal sized portions.

My cup of iced lime was overly sweeeeeet. I guess sugar was cheaper in Pan Bakery. As for my aglio olio spaghetti. The looks of it was rather disappointing. It doesn’t seemed like aglio olio to me, cause there were way too many shredded chili on it. It was like having Hakka noodle with chili flakes. The only thing aglio olio about it was probably the abundance amount of chopped garlic. Taste was nothing aglio olio too. I ordered a seafood one, though I was surprised that I even found peas, long beans and funny, shredded cabbages. Well, I had to eat all the vegetables because I’ve abandoned the rest of the meat to PCL.

PCL orderd the Pan Club sandwich where the bread was toasted till crisp. It was rather crunchy. She said it was quite nice. To me, it was acceptable but somehow it lacked something. Perhaps it was the beef bacon that was removed from it. What’s a club sandwich if it lacks the bacon, right?

Overall, the lunch wasn’t exactly fine. The good sandwich doesn’t make it up to the bad pasta I had. But I might go there again to try something else next time.

I was dead hungry before it was lunch time today. Only had light breakfast, a cup of coffee mix with cereal. Hence, I wanted something to boost my day. I wanted CKT from my favourite stall. So I brought KW here to try it out since it was his first time.

Today’s fried kuey teow was drier than usual, which was actually a good thing. But the flavouring was a little lacked as compared to the previous time I had, which was last week. The sunny side up egg was a disaster. I couldn’t recognize it if it was an egg or birds’ drops all lumped together. Flew all the prawns to KW while I had my cockles all lined up. Not so healthy diet considering my strict diet, but at least I didn’t harm myself more with the meat.

Anyway, the auntie whom cooked this was able to keep up with her own consistency. Not so mood swing anymore like how it used to, which almost made the fried kuey teow an acquired taste.

I was joining AC for a car test drive. While we have some time to spare for a quick lunch. He recommended this place to go along with my strict diet.

The roti was nothing to shout about, but I do like the curry there. Perhaps a little more curry would made everything tastes better.
