Today went to Klang for lunch. It was spontaneous. Since the women can’t make any decision, so I helped them decide and they can’t say no. At first I thought of chicken rice at Fu Tian, then I suddenly thought of the nice bean curd soup (豆腐羹) from Happy Valley Restaurant in Klang. Hence I decided to give it a go. When we were there, WWS said that the other restaurant, few shop lots away was introduced by Ah Xian. Since I’ve tried Happy Valley, hence I decided to try the other restaurant instead. Though this place was not POI in the GPS, but Happy Valley does.

Fortunately, the wait wasn’t too long after our orders were taken. The bean curd soup was not as salty as Happy Valley which I last tried, but it was still quite salty. The soup was thick though, I guess the chef put too much powder in it which made the soup’s texture weird and too smooth. ALGJ said the crab meat stank though. Then the 4 heavenly vegetables, which weren’t too heavenly at all. It was super salty. It has 2 types of sticky vegetables, 1 was long beans, the other, I dunno what bean, but it was sticky type. Then there were the brinjals, which was the first time I ever seen being served in 4 heavenly vegetables dish. I was expecting petai though, sadly I don’t get any.

Then the dish which was ordered by WWS came. The fried pumpkin with salted egg yolk in milk and butter style. It has good fragrance yet not too heavy. The yolks weren’t too much until it was yucky and the pumpkins were sweet. It was nice and very addictive especially the crispy small bits. Finally, the signature fish dish that tasted like Teo Chew style steamed fish. Except, the soup was not clear and it doesn’t contain any soup plums or pickles. It was quite ok though but considered too salty. According the WWS, this place was famous for its fresh seafood. To me, the fish was acceptably fresh not very fresh, but just good enough. At least it doesn’t stank like the crab meat.

The service there was a bit slow. We had to order 3 times for our ice cubes and we only get it halfway during our meal.
