The first time I heard of Sushi Tei was from DC. According to him, his cousin from Indonesia wouldn’t even want to set foot into any of the sushi restaurant here unless it’s a Sushi Tei. During the time the statement was made, Sushi Tei has not hit our shore yet. Until Tropicana Mall has finally opened, the very first Sushi Tei outlet in Malaysia has finally opened.

Aside from the uncanny resemblance to Sushi Zanmai, both the photos in the menu and the varieties offered, the sushi offered weren’t that impressive. Perhaps it would taste different in Singapore/Indonesia, but over here, it definitely just another Sushi Zanmai clone. Price wise, they were similar, probably a few cents difference.

If you want to go for sushi and don’t want to be rounding the mall for parking space, try Tropicana Mall. Plenty of people and many more people don’t know how to enter the place. Worst, most of them don’t even know how to get out.

    i’m from Jakarta, Indonesia.

actually when I first found out about Sushi Zanmai, I thought it’s under the same umbrella as Sushi Tei. They had almost the same menu (content-wise, design, even names!)

so it’s kindda surprising when I heard Sushi Tei has arrived in Msia, cos i thought all this while Sushi Tei is Sushi Zanmai.

OH well. this is actually confusing. hahaha but back there in Jakarta, Sushi Tei serves fairly good sushi for its price 🙂 you should try their dessert – ice fruit balls! 🙂

      Hi pamela,

Thank you for stopping by. I’ll take your advice and try out the ice fruit balls on my next visit to Sushi Tei, provided if they do have that item here as well. 🙂
