SFCC, IOI Mall New Wing

After the full moon party at my boss’ place, me and EL went to IOI Mall in Puchong to break the ice of the newly opened SFCC outlet inside the mall. I’m taking this opportunity to test drive AT’s new Saga as well.

... it might be a bit steep for a cup of Extreme Mocha at RM15.75 (incl of tax), but when it's a Buy 1 Free 1 (B1F1) deal, everything else seemed so beautiful.

~ I missed you dear. I missed you so much! ~

Yes, that would be what I’d say to SFCC if she’s a girl. I can finally have a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a fabulous cup of extreme coffee at my own leisure. Despite having to pay RM3.20 of tolls for getting into and out of Puchong. The barrista heed my instructions pretty well, with less sweet and more coffee, skipping the cream too. Though it still felt a little too sweet. Anyway, today’s coffee blend was very aromatic. It’s much better than blowing smoke out of your nose. Try blowing XM’s fragrance out of your nose!

According to the barrista from Sunway College’s outlet, there are going to be few more new outlets spawning from various places. The nearest 1 would be in Sunway Pyramid. Currently, Maxis is renovating its shop lot, SFCC gonna be in it! WOOHOO! I can’t wait to go there for a drink. Parking was convenient and it’s nearer than going to MV.

Fishing Village Seafood Restaurant, Teluk Bahang, Penang Island

The first time I came here was in August with DC. It was for a quickie job which took us overnight to get them done. Our MD were having dinner at this place with other colleagues. He had ordered some takeaways for us as dinner, or supper, judging by the time that we arrived at this place. Our MD got us 3 crabs full of crab roe, salted egg prawns and my favourite, black pepper fried squids. They were really nice despite being cold. So we told ourselves that we MUST come here again for dinner the next time we are in Penang.

And here we are, with HL and LGJ, along with the rest of the SAP consultants. We were bringing them to the paradise of seafood, lucky them.

… we saw our fella colleagues were having cheese lobster the other night. DC has been craving for it ever since. Tonight, he got lucky and he ordered an 850g cheese lobster. It’s a live one, which cost RM22/100g.

… on top of the lobster was a vege with bean curd. I guess that was probably the least tasty item amongst the rest.

… my idol of the evening, black pepper fried squids. Awesome as usual, even better when it was eaten fresh!

… kung pao mantis shrimps, not up to my standard. At least they don’t fry the mantis shrimps in thick frying powder.

… baked roe crabs, just the way I like it like what I had last time.

… kam heong crabs. Very salty and the curry taste was a tad too heavy.

… close up on my favourite fried squid.

… check out those roe, or crab eggs.

… the shell comes off in one whole piece, leaving the meat intact.

… roe, roe, roe your crab…

… DC couldn’t get enough, he ordered the last dish, a steamed fish.

It’s no denying that this place was probably one of the best seafood place I’ve ever been to. DC was enjoying every bit of it. He kept saying how nice and how skillful the chef was. It’s really rare to hear that from a fella who was so proud of his self sustained town of seafood, Klang. Not sure about the rest of the members, but I was enjoying the food. Despite having high expectations, the foods didn’t disappoint me a little bit, except for probably 1 or 2 dishes. The dinner cost up to RM422 for up to 7 pax. The lobster itself cost almost RM190 for 850g. I hope to pay that place a visit again on my next visit to Penang.

Sushi King, Sunway Pyramid

It was the time of the year again where each sushi in Sushi King costs only RM2. Me and my colleagues have been waiting eagerly for this Sushi Bonanza event held by Sushi King, which only happens twice a year. It started back in September 2007, the first time that I seriously got the hang of RM2/plate of sushi deal. The bill was forked by a supplier, whom lost the bet that if I could eat up a certain amount of sushis, I’d win. And hence we started the sushi eating craze…

… unagi galore! Who wouldn’t want 10 plates of those when you are only paying 1/3 the original price?

… look at the poster carefully, there are terms & conditions to be adhered to.

Being a sushi lover, I just can’t help by visit Sushi King 4 days in a row (the bonanza lasts only 4 days) and caused myself some serious constipation. But it was all worth it. And the bill… lower than you could ever imagined!

Poh Loong Seafood Restaurant (寳隆), Teluk Intan

As usual, whenever I balik kampung, I’ll get a taste of my favourite seafood at my favourite restaurant (only because they serve the dishes that I like).

… fried chicken salad with fruits cutlets.

water spinach (蕹菜) stir fried with shrimp paste (蝦醬).

… fried little squids. My favourite of them all… but…

… kam heong mantis shrimps.

With both the fried squids and kam heong mantis shrimps, it is really hard for me to decided which one I liked better. I’ll take them both anytime, just to go with my few plates of white rice! Yeah, they are indeed THAT good!

… sweet sour fried crab. Eating crabs wasn’t my forte. All the hard works for the little meats that you can get and the messy fingers, or worse, hands. Sometimes, you’ll even get stain on your shirt. Unfortunately, unlike most sweet sour, which the crabs were drowned in its gravy, this was only laden with some gravy and it tasted unlike most sweet sour crabs. It’s salty and sour.

… halfway through the dishes…

… my best combination. Fried little squids, kam heong mantis shrimps and a healthy pick of kangkung.

Both the kam heong mantis shrimps and fried little squids were spot on. No charred taste in the squids. The vege was right on spot. Not so for the crabs though. This was the first time I tried the fried chicken fruits salad. It wasn’t all that bad, but it’s just odd. Usually fruits salad goes well with boiled shrimps. The sweetness in the prawns after it was boiled was god send.

Fried Flat Flour Noodle (炒板麵)

It was a routine back then, on every Sunday, I’d go for hiking in FRIM. The prize that came afterward was …

… priceless, of course! The tasty fried flat flour noodle with the stir fried egg mixed into it, which brings out the aroma of the egg, filled with abundance of fried pork lards. There goes all the hard work of hiking.

It already made me hungry just by looking at it. But you have gotta be early to enjoy this, somewhere around 9am. You are lucky if you could still get it around 10am. But many nutritionist might be put off by the oil laden dish though.
