... putu mayam sans the brown sugar and coconut flake.

... 1 of the best fried chicken in town, despite it was already cold.
Rating: 6.5/10
Though I still prefer my putu mayam with brown sugar and coconut flake combination, but this wasn’t too bad either. Mainly because the curry was quite nice, and the dhal was especially nice as well. The fried chicken was consistent to what I’ve had the last couple of times, though it was cold, most of the time. I have to spot the right time when the chicken was freshly fried. Then, according to AC, the chicken would be much nicer by a few hundred thousand folds.

... aglio olio pasta.
Rating: 0/10
This aglio olio linguine was very spicy and yet it was tasteless. Not salted at all. I was expecting it to be soak in olive oil with plenty of garlic, unfortunately, it was soaked in spicy oil. The only tasteful stuff were those beef bacons. Fortunately, the Extreme Latte was still nice. At least it was nicer than The Ultimate Extreme Mocha from Coffee Bean that I had last night, which was practically tasteless and lacked of coffee fragrance.

... Shihlin's boneless fried chicken.
Rating: 5/10
A new outlet of Shihlin opened in IOI Mall’s new wing. AT spotted it from where she sat. If I knew Shihlin was there, I would’ve had it for dinner as I was thinking of having it before looking for EL & AT, but time wouldn’t permit. Perhaps next time I’ll have dinner there instead.

After our lunch, we adjourned to our usual favourite place in Solaris.

... Häagen-Dazs Shake of Belgian Chocolate and Macadamia Nuts.
Rating: 3/10
It came with a chocolate stick biscuit, which I thought was a straw. It was so thick that my straw could stand on it on and the straw was even being pushed upward by the viscosity of the liquid. I guess I had the wrong choice of mixing Belgian Chocolate with Macadamia Nuts. I was having sore throat drinking this as the Belgian Chocolate was still too strong for my liking. It was very sweet and diabetic. Perhaps I’ll go with Choc Choc Chips next time. But at RM23.90 (excluding taxes) per cup, it’s rather costly I might say.

... utensils.

... green tea, but where's the third cup?

... soft shell crab temaki, wrapped in tortilla instead of seaweed.

... squids on a stick.

... Ebi to Ika no Spicy Pasta, yes, read it in English and you'll understand. From Ebi to Ika, there's no spicy in the pasta.
Rating: 5.5/10
The soft shell crab temaki got my jaw sored. Probably due to the tortilla being used instead of the usual crispy seaweed. The temakis were served in 3 different types of sauces. I could only make out 2 of them, which were curry sauce and mayonnaise. I’ve got no idea what the third sourish and little spicy sauce was. The grilled squids on a stick was nice. Despite it it was cold, the taste was good, probably glazed with salt water. Though I expected it to have better fragrance like most grilled squids. Finally, my not spicy was only mediocre. Not that I have a good impression on this place on my previous visit.
The service for the day was terrible. We had to wait for more than 30 minutes for our main course to be served. Not that the preparations for pasta would take that long. And despite all the time taken, our ingredients weren’t exactly better than usual. The squid rings on my pasta was rather hard, and the taste of the whole thing wasn’t that good either.

I saw the O’Briens promotion on my Facebook, stating that any sandwich will only cost RM10. But the promotion only available in Sunway Pyramid outlet. I would’ve gone there myself, if AC didn’t buzz me on MSN. Hence we share the private moment together, while EL was sleeping like pig until 4pm, then only reply to my SMS. We had the most expensive sandwich on the menu, of course. Afraid that we might miss such opportunity again.

... a RM17.50 now cost only RM10.00.

... banana, carrot, apple and orange juice mix. Drink till you split.
Rating: 6/10
I had the O’Brien’s Chicken Tripledecker, while AC ordered the O’Brien’s Crambo Club. Somehow, we were both served with the same Chicken Tripledecker sandwich. I guess the lady took the wrong order. The sandwich was thick because it has 3 slices of bread on it. 1 piece of very crispy chicken crisp, which was quite dry, but salty. Very nice indeed. Then there were chicken cutlets with melted cheese holding them to the bread. On the bottom layer, things were falling apart because the vegetable and coleslaw can’t hold them together. Hence stuff got really messy in the end.
My banana refresher was quite a refreshment. Usually, I was a bit wary of banana drink as I wouldn’t know how it would turns out. Fortunately, it wasn’t too thick, not like some banana shake or smoothies. The carrot and apple’s flavours were almost non-existence though. Mainly dominated by banana and orange.

After our heavy breakfast, we went hunting for dessert as according to the magazine. Boy, the place was hard to locate before it was not POI on my GPS map. Fortunately, we managed to find it by asking the local though.

... it's called the 8-treasure snow. I supposed there were 8 different ingredients in it, excluding the syrups and ice, of course.
Rating: 6.5/10
While still quite full from the breakfast, I took on a whole bowl of ais kacang. The syrup used was rather exquisite. It was quite nice, though it was very sweet too. Be sure to drink a lot of water after that. EL was saying that, instead of normal sugar syrup, a kind of herbal syrup (八寶) was used. Worth a try as it was different from what I usually get, and it doesn’t come with the weird or bad after taste like those I had in KV. lol

... as usual, apple beetroot and carrot mix.

... vegetarian popia.

... vegetarian sizzling noodle.
Rating: 5.5/10
When I was served my sizzling noodle, it doesn’t sizzle at all. The noodle was very soft, as if it was over soaked. The sauce on the noodle was nice though. As for the vegetarian popia that I ordered, it was rather unexpected. Reminded me of the sushi from Organic Vegetarian Fresh Mart. All the gratted vegetables as the centre of the roll.

After our breakfast, we went to SS2 for dessert. EL wanted KTZ, but I told him that KTZ won’t be opens until 12:30pm. Then we adjourned to nearby tong sui shop at the row of shop behind McDonald’s.

... EL's guai ling gou. He said it was very bitter.

... AT's egg custard.

... my favourite snow fungus with red dates tong sui.
Rating: 3/10
My snow fungus tong sui was quite runny. I remembered it was quite nice few years back when I had it. I guess things change.

After our long awaiting snack at Lorong Selamat. We head on straight to Pasar Air Itam’s laksa. MH was craving for it as well. He told me that is a must try when we were on our way to Penang the day before. Despite the warnings of the place was famous of using tissue paper in boiling the soup, I just had to take the risk.

... the famous asam laksa stall in Air Itam's market area.

... unlike those served in KV, this doesn't come with pineapple and the soup wasn't sweet, which I like.
Rating: 5.5/10
The taste of the soup was what I would be expecting from an asam laksa. Similar to my hometown’s asam laksa where there’s no pineapple. Though there were quite a bit of jalapeno being used here. Unfortunately, according to MH, if we were to be there in the morning, there would be more mackerel in the bowl of noodle, as opposed to none at all when we had it. Except for some minced leftover fish meat sinking at the bottom of the pot. Anyway, there weren’t any visible tissue paper particles found in the soup.

... Bangkok fried rice.
Rating: 3/10
I’m not sure what I was eating. The fried rice was pretty bland. The meat with sauce was close to tasteless. Fortunately, the fried egg was quite nice, though it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortfall of the rice. The portion was very big. Found that out when I flatten the rice.
