Mango Delight

... the last piece of Mango Delight in the counter. Yes, it was leftover from yesterday.

Set Lunch

... ALGJ's set lunch, chicken in tomato sauce, if I'm not mistaken.

Flavoured Latte

... the aptly named flavoured latte. I went with hazelnut syrup.

Rating: 4/10

My Mango Delight cake was a mess when it was delivered to me. Instead of standing by itself, it was laid down sleeping like a lazy pig. What a way to serve your patron their precious slice cake! I had to flip it up to take photo of it, though the cake looked like it was just gutted by a robber. My latte was nothing to complain about, but for RM7.50 each, I prefer something more tasty.

ALGJ’s chicken set looks nice though, especially that sauce. I might have guessed it wrongly, it could’ve been sweet and sour sauce. Unfortunately, she was super hungry today as she cleaned the whole plate, without any leftover for me to try.

Nasi Sempalit @ DoReMi, Ara Damansara

Putu Mayam

... putu mayam sans the brown sugar and coconut flake.

Fried Chicken

... 1 of the best fried chicken in town, despite it was already cold.

Rating: 6.5/10

Though I still prefer my putu mayam with brown sugar and coconut flake combination, but this wasn’t too bad either. Mainly because the curry was quite nice, and the dhal was especially nice as well. The fried chicken was consistent to what I’ve had the last couple of times, though it was cold, most of the time. I have to spot the right time when the chicken was freshly fried. Then, according to AC, the chicken would be much nicer by a few hundred thousand folds.

Medifoods Makanan Kesihatan Dan Organik, SS18

Soup

... complimentary soup.

Pickled

... pickled fruits with sengkuang. No dragonfruits this time.

Nasi Lemak

... organic nasi lemak. The hard boiled egg was so good.

Rating: 5.5/10

Went to Medifoods with ALGJ and TSL. I was still feeling quite full and lazy to think of what to eat. They finally suggested this place. And again, I was tempted with the nasi lemak there. The last time I had the nasi lemak there was not bad, though I don’t have my camera with me, so I can’t blog about it. This time, I brought along my camera.

Unfortunately though, the sambal wasn’t so good this time. Probably because I was still full. The complimentary soup tasted bland and the lacked of dragonfruits kinda put me off, even though I wasn’t a big fan of dragonfruits. The pickled fruits tasted weird, so I’ve only had a little bit of them.

SFCC, IOI Mall New Wing

Aglio Olio

... aglio olio pasta.

Rating: 0/10

This aglio olio linguine was very spicy and yet it was tasteless. Not salted at all. I was expecting it to be soak in olive oil with plenty of garlic, unfortunately, it was soaked in spicy oil. The only tasteful stuff were those beef bacons. Fortunately, the Extreme Latte was still nice. At least it was nicer than The Ultimate Extreme Mocha from Coffee Bean that I had last night, which was practically tasteless and lacked of coffee fragrance.

Fried Chicken

... Shihlin's boneless fried chicken.

Rating: 5/10

A new outlet of Shihlin opened in IOI Mall’s new wing. AT spotted it from where she sat. If I knew Shihlin was there, I would’ve had it for dinner as I was thinking of having it before looking for EL & AT, but time wouldn’t permit. Perhaps next time I’ll have dinner there instead.

Drunken Chicken

... drunken chicken dancing on flame.

Drunken Chicken

... drunken chicken.

Vege

... vege.

Beancurd

... beancurd in fried little shrimps and sauce.

Fish

... steamed puntius bulu (丁加蘭) fish.

Rating: 4/10

Our initial plan was to have steamed frog vermicelli here, but ended up they don’t have it tonight. Hence we went with the rather ordinary meal. The drunken chicken soup looked thick and there were so much of ginger in it, though I preferred sliced ginger. The soup tasted quite sweet. Everything else tasted moderate and I don’t have much appetite on them. The fried shrimps only filled on 1 piece of the bean curd while the other was only soaked in oyster sauce. Talks about fair. The fish cost RM8 every 100 grams. Being a freshwater fish, it doesn’t have the mud taste in it.

Our dinner was supposed to be at BadAss Coffee, but their kitchen closes at 10pm. So we had to adjourn to this place. I had pretty good impression on this place since my last visit. Though this time, they don’t have their daily special item which I had last time, the Vietnamese clay pot chicken, which was very tender, despite being chicken breast meat cutlets.

The Hokkien fried bee hoon here wasn’t as salty as the Hokkien fried bee hoon a few shops away. The spare ribs were good, but there were 3 pieces with bones. While the garlic sauce was a bit weird. I can’t say it was not nice, but neither was it nice if you had too many. Just the right amount is sufficient. Vegetable was horrible though.

Fish

... fish cutlets.

Rice

... rice on banana leaf with limitless papadam.

Fried Bittergourd

... according to MSF, these were fried bittergourd. Though they weren't bitter at all.

Rating: 6/10

The place was packed with crowds. The people keep coming and going, throughout lunch hours. MSF told us that they don’t use MSG in their food, hence the mildly flavoured gravies and stuff. The lamb was like quite normal, though the curry chicken was nice and tender. The fried chicken was disappointing. Fried fish egg was something new to me, though I don’t really like it. As for my favourite fried squids, it was pretty… tastely. Not salted at all.

The bill came up to RM80 for the 4 of us. Seems pretty steep for the amount of food served.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio

... spaghetti aglio olio, as stated on the menu.

Rating: 6.5/10

PG said the aglio olio spaghetti here was not bad. I also spotted it on the menu few nights ago, but always forgot to try it out when I reach DoReMi. So tonight I purposely come and try it out. For an olio costing only RM5, I think it’s pretty decent. Plenty of chopped garlic. Get your gum ready though, cause you’ll be going down 1 stinkin’ path.

Häagen-Dazs, Solaris Mont Kiara

After our lunch, we adjourned to our usual favourite place in Solaris.

... Häagen-Dazs Shake of Belgian Chocolate and Macadamia Nuts.

... Häagen-Dazs Shake of Belgian Chocolate and Macadamia Nuts.

Rating: 3/10

It came with a chocolate stick biscuit, which I thought was a straw. It was so thick that my straw could stand on it on and the straw was even being pushed upward by the viscosity of the liquid. I guess I had the wrong choice of mixing Belgian Chocolate with Macadamia Nuts. I was having sore throat drinking this as the Belgian Chocolate was still too strong for my liking. It was very sweet and diabetic. Perhaps I’ll go with Choc Choc Chips next time. But at RM23.90 (excluding taxes) per cup, it’s rather costly I might say.

This was probably the best roasted pork I’ve had in Klang Valley. It beats my favourite roasted pork at Mooi Mooi. The lean meat was so tender and it seriously melts in the mouth. Despite the crispy skin, it melts as it touches my saliva. The taste and fragrance of the lard filled my mouth immediately, just like a nuclear explosion. Each slice of the roasted pork cost RM13.50. We had 3 slices and the meal cost RM51.10. Even the 10c was being charge by the lady instead of waiving it off for convenience sake. What the…

If Indonesia was having a Richter 7.9 of quake, this could easily shakes my world with a Richter scale of 9.7!

A must try!

On a side note, I’ve read a blog comparing this to the roasted pork in Mooi Mooi, saying that the service here was very lousy and bad. I went there quite early and the roasted pork was still being prepared. The boss was so kind enough to actually waited for me to snap a photo of the 3 pieces of delicious roasted pork before he continues his work. The service was ok, probably because there weren’t many people the time I was there. It was Sunday morning after all. Perhaps I’ll try to go again on weekdays to feel the wrath of bad service as mentioned by the blogger.
