The last meal of the trip was on AirAsia. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Foccacia for the return trip. The air stewardess was very naughty. She told us that my name wasn’t on the list, meaning that we didn’t place any order for the Smoked Chicken Foccacia. When I was about to give up, she asked for my IC for verification. It was then I realised that she pulled a fast 1 on me. Luckily I have my sandwich, as I was really hungry that time, not knowing if there’s anything else to eat. Probably she afraid that I might swallow her up if she deprive me of my food.

Being so hungry, the sandwich tasted exceptionally good. After eating the whole thing, it felt like I haven’t had anything. I missed my Subway sandwiches.

Koi Kee Portuguese Tart, Macau

... finally, I got my hand on a Portuguese tart.

... tastes a lot better than those selling here. At least it's sweeter on the egg custard and the skin was crispy and layered like croissant.

Today is the last day of the trip. We didn’t know what to have for lunch in Macau, hence we decided to go for souvenirs first. While we were at St Paul Street, there were many bakeries along the street. We went to try almost every types of almond cookies in those shops. I decided to hold back on consuming too much as I still needed to try the original Portuguese Tart in Macau, as those in Malaysia were really bad.

Unknown which shop to try, I simply decided to pick 1 from the most crowded one. It’s the Koi Kee tart. The taste was really good. Unlike what I had in Malaysia, the egg custard was actually sweet. Sweet enough that it’s just nice. The crust was flaking and crispy. Like a thousand layer croissant. I wished I could pack these home if only they remained fresh.

My conclusion was, one would never die of hunger being in Macau.

McDonald’s Fortress Hill, Hong Kong

Pork patty was something new to me as this is the first time I tasted pork patty from McDonald’s. The patty was mildy peppered, though it has slightly pork smell in it, which was the kind of smell that I don’t like. The patty was served in a bowl full of pasta with soup.

My advice, NEVER EVER try this. It sucks!

Burger King, Hong Kong

... BBQ Bacon Burger which wasn't available in Malaysia. Unfortunately, the bacon was beef, not pork. Which made this place a halal fast-food restaurant.

After our trip to Lantau Island, we went on straight to hill top via tram. There we visited Madame Tussauds’ wax museum. After that, we went to BK for dinner. Seeing that it’s in HK, we were so sure that the menu would be different from ours. The only thing was, we were all hoping there was at least 1 pork item on the menu. Unfortunately, it turns out to be pork free.

Anyway, I had the BBQ Bacon Burger, to deceived myself that I was actually having pork bacon. The BBQ sauce were too much, while the bacon were only few strips. I could barely taste the bacon in it. The meat patty tasted pretty much the same as usual BK’s burger. I order just an ala carte burger and it wasn’t cheap.

McDonald’s, Grand Century Place, Hong Kong

... Grilled Chicken Burger, something which is not offered here.

After watching an event in Grand Century Place, HL said he wanted to try out the pork burger in McD, which was not available in Malaysia. Unfortunately, pork burgers only available for breakfast, hence we settled for grilled chicken burger because I told him that’s something which we don’t have in Malaysia as well, while the rest of the menu looked similar.

The grilled chicken patty doesn’t look as appetizing as the one from BK as it seemed marinated before grilling. The taste has a tad of sweetness in it, though not too bad. But I’d still stick with BK Broiler because it doesn’t kill my appetite with its apperance.

PS: I was warned from taking photograph within the vicinity of the shop. I was surprised to find that this particular outlet doesn’t allow patrons to use their camera in the shop’s area, even only for photographing the food.

Pokka Cafe, New Town Plaza, Hong Kong

... Pokka Cafe, reminds me of the coffee flavoured can drinks. I wonder if they are related.

The drink was devastating, fortunately the smoked duck wraps were quite good. Though they were really cold. The mashed potato escargot was not as good as butter garlic escargot from San Francisco Steakhouse. I missed it very much.

The bill came up to around HKD188+ for only starters and drinks.

Beer Bar, Hong Kong

... we picked Beer Bar as our final stop for beersssss!

... on our 3rd round, we had Hoegaarden. I'd want to try it because I never had it before.

Kilkenny draft was great. A little bit of glistering taste like Heineken, which I like. As for Hoegaarden, which was my first time. It tasted like ginger ale without sugar and a tad sourish. HL said it’s the beer for ladies. I guess I’ll stick with Kilkenny, or Heineken if I want budget drink.

Oh, I almost forgot. I actually don’t fancy beers. So I don’t really drink.

Mr. Brown Coffee

The walking was taking a toll on me, better stop by for a drink. Grabbed this bottle of mocha, which seemed the most convincing to me on the shelf of 7-11. Tasted pretty ok. Mildy sweetened and not bitter at all. HL said it was the must have in HK/Taiwan. I guess it’s because we don’t get it here in Malaysia. What we have were just Pokai (Pokka) coffee.

I was told that the hotdog buns served in AirAsia was supplied by 1901. Though it doesn’t show any sign, the size of the hotdog do looks similar. Somehow, I prefer this over conventional 1901′s hotdog and bun. The bun used here wasn’t as chewy as those from 1901 and the hotdog actually tasted salty, as compared to 1901′s which was rather tasteless. The honey mustard mayo was a plus.

SFCC, IOI Mall New Wing

... the name was Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato. Yup, it doesn't have a proper name. Mainly just named after the ingredients.

My sandwich with added cheese was quite fulfilling. CTSW called for coffee break and I skipped my dinner, eagerly looking forward for a cup of my favourite XM. By the time I reach the place, I was already hungry and I can’t help by had to order 1 of the sandwiches there. I had the Club Sandwich before, which was quite good. Now I wanna try something different instead. Though the bacon was not sauteed until crisp as how I’d like it to be, it still taste good on itself. Reminds me of hams.

Next time I’ll try something different instead…
