... organic nasi lemak. The hard boiled egg was so good.
Rating: 5.5/10
Went to Medifoods with ALGJ and TSL. I was still feeling quite full and lazy to think of what to eat. They finally suggested this place. And again, I was tempted with the nasi lemak there. The last time I had the nasi lemak there was not bad, though I don’t have my camera with me, so I can’t blog about it. This time, I brought along my camera.
Unfortunately though, the sambal wasn’t so good this time. Probably because I was still full. The complimentary soup tasted bland and the lacked of dragonfruits kinda put me off, even though I wasn’t a big fan of dragonfruits. The pickled fruits tasted weird, so I’ve only had a little bit of them.

... aglio olio pasta.
Rating: 0/10
This aglio olio linguine was very spicy and yet it was tasteless. Not salted at all. I was expecting it to be soak in olive oil with plenty of garlic, unfortunately, it was soaked in spicy oil. The only tasteful stuff were those beef bacons. Fortunately, the Extreme Latte was still nice. At least it was nicer than The Ultimate Extreme Mocha from Coffee Bean that I had last night, which was practically tasteless and lacked of coffee fragrance.

... Shihlin's boneless fried chicken.
Rating: 5/10
A new outlet of Shihlin opened in IOI Mall’s new wing. AT spotted it from where she sat. If I knew Shihlin was there, I would’ve had it for dinner as I was thinking of having it before looking for EL & AT, but time wouldn’t permit. Perhaps next time I’ll have dinner there instead.

... steamed puntius bulu (丁加蘭) fish.
Rating: 4/10
Our initial plan was to have steamed frog vermicelli here, but ended up they don’t have it tonight. Hence we went with the rather ordinary meal. The drunken chicken soup looked thick and there were so much of ginger in it, though I preferred sliced ginger. The soup tasted quite sweet. Everything else tasted moderate and I don’t have much appetite on them. The fried shrimps only filled on 1 piece of the bean curd while the other was only soaked in oyster sauce. Talks about fair. The fish cost RM8 every 100 grams. Being a freshwater fish, it doesn’t have the mud taste in it.

... spare ribs in 2 sauces. Left 1 was butter garlic alike, and right 1 was sweet & sour.
Rating: 6.5/10
Our dinner was supposed to be at BadAss Coffee, but their kitchen closes at 10pm. So we had to adjourn to this place. I had pretty good impression on this place since my last visit. Though this time, they don’t have their daily special item which I had last time, the Vietnamese clay pot chicken, which was very tender, despite being chicken breast meat cutlets.
The Hokkien fried bee hoon here wasn’t as salty as the Hokkien fried bee hoon a few shops away. The spare ribs were good, but there were 3 pieces with bones. While the garlic sauce was a bit weird. I can’t say it was not nice, but neither was it nice if you had too many. Just the right amount is sufficient. Vegetable was horrible though.

This was probably the best roasted pork I’ve had in Klang Valley. It beats my favourite roasted pork at Mooi Mooi. The lean meat was so tender and it seriously melts in the mouth. Despite the crispy skin, it melts as it touches my saliva. The taste and fragrance of the lard filled my mouth immediately, just like a nuclear explosion. Each slice of the roasted pork cost RM13.50. We had 3 slices and the meal cost RM51.10. Even the 10c was being charge by the lady instead of waiving it off for convenience sake. What the…
If Indonesia was having a Richter 7.9 of quake, this could easily shakes my world with a Richter scale of 9.7!
A must try!
On a side note, I’ve read a blog comparing this to the roasted pork in Mooi Mooi, saying that the service here was very lousy and bad. I went there quite early and the roasted pork was still being prepared. The boss was so kind enough to actually waited for me to snap a photo of the 3 pieces of delicious roasted pork before he continues his work. The service was ok, probably because there weren’t many people the time I was there. It was Sunday morning after all. Perhaps I’ll try to go again on weekdays to feel the wrath of bad service as mentioned by the blogger.

This post will be dedicated for a fan-sy of mine, AT. She has been complaining that I haven’t had any new posts for so long. So, I purposely wake up early in the morning, with lacked of sleep, just to come all the way to Dang Wangi for some breakfast that I’ve never written before. Though I’ve been to this place once, so long ago. More than 3 years ago though. But I don’t have much recollection of what I’ve had back then.

... each item of outside food will be charged.

... we were given a whole bottle of Lea & Perrins soya sauce. Reminds me of the Ramli Burger at Taman Paramount.

... iced kopi-o.

... chicken chop, Hainanese style.

... Hainanese noodle, doesn't look good. Fortunately the taste wasn't bad.

... porridge, tasted pretty bland.

... the notorious roti babi (pork bread).

... take a peek on the inside.

... roasted pork, each plate cost RM10.

... served with white wine apple sauce.
Rating: 5/10
I’ve mixed feelings on the food served here. Firstly, the chicken chop was rather unattractive. Probably because it was already soggy from soaking in the brown sauce or maybe because it took them less than 5 minutes to serve it right after we’ve placed our order. Either way, the chicken chop wasn’t as nice as I thought it would be. Then the Hainanese noodle, which came as a surprise. From the looks of it, it was rather unappetizing. Fortunately, it wasn’t the case for its taste. I find it rather good. Though I can’t be sure if I could finish up the whole plate all by myself. My appetite conscience probably gonna kills me.
The roti babi was very nice, aside from the rather oily bread. It seemed to be prepared in a hurry. Reminded me a little of the treasure chest of Taiwanese street snack. It has minced pork and even some sliced sausages. Tasted a tad sweet. It was nice, better if the bread wasn’t so oily. Porridge was a blasphemy. It was bland and we couldn’t even finish 1/2 of it.
Finally, special roast pork of the place, which started serving only at 11:30am. The skin was super crispy and it sort of came off, detached from the meat. Unlike my favourite roasted pork, the fats here don’t melt in my mouth, nor the lean meat was tender and soft. A rather bad dish if you don’t take the roasted skin.

... steamed cod fish.

... clay pot curry chicken.

... fried crab in sambal.

This place was on our KIV list for a long time, finally today I could give it a try together with DL. Unfortunately, MH wasn’t able to join us. We ordered quite a number of dishes in order to prevent the sky from raining further. Firstly, we have the Japanese escargot in butter garlic sauce. DL almost puke, but fortunately there were some garlic in it to engulf the butter taste in it. Anyway, he soaked himself in jalapeno later on. San Francisco SteakHouse’s butter garlic escargot has better sauce than this at any given time!
Then the 4 heavenly vegetables were served. It was rather sticky and gooey. The cod fish was very disappointing. Probably the worst cod fish I’ve ever had. It was like a piece of elastic rubber. Yes, the cod fish was practically ruined. We ended up having balance of the fish on the plate. DL was so enjoying the clay pot curry chicken, not because it was nice, but it was hot. He said it’s nice to have hot stuff like this during cold weather. We should have gone to Seafood Ler for clay pot curry fish instead.
Finally, the crabs were not fresh, according to DL. I managed to have a pincer which was rather sweet and an acceptable leg part. Though my second leg part was not fresh, just like how he claimed.
I guess this is the place that I’d never go back to, even if I’m hungry.

Our final destination for the day was at this place for lunch. Though we’ve already had our lunch earlier at Yi Poh. After our little shopping in Parkson Grand, I started to feel a little empty in my stomach. Our initial plan was to have dinner at this place. Unfortunately, we can’t last until dinner time as there was basically nothing to do in Seremban. Nothing! Fortunately, the place was opened early.

... fried wanton skin as starter.

... special spicy concoction for the crabs.

... stir fried vegetable.

... spare ribs cooked with marmite.

... the grilled crabs, salty as ever.
Rating: 5.5/10
The vegetable was the most mildly tasting dish. The marmite spare ribs were a tad salty. AT was complaining that it was very salty. The portion was big though. Then the crab, it was very very very salty, similar to last time. I thought they would’ve tone down a bit. The crab meat was nice though, sweet, unlike what I had in Cia Xiang.

The taste stays pretty much the same as the last time I had it. Talks about consistency. Mildly soggy fried pork lards, the hometown flavouried thick dark sauce in the noodle and the hometown tasting complimentary soup.

After our heavy breakfast, we went hunting for dessert as according to the magazine. Boy, the place was hard to locate before it was not POI on my GPS map. Fortunately, we managed to find it by asking the local though.

... it's called the 8-treasure snow. I supposed there were 8 different ingredients in it, excluding the syrups and ice, of course.

While still quite full from the breakfast, I took on a whole bowl of ais kacang. The syrup used was rather exquisite. It was quite nice, though it was very sweet too. Be sure to drink a lot of water after that. EL was saying that, instead of normal sugar syrup, a kind of herbal syrup (八寶) was used. Worth a try as it was different from what I usually get, and it doesn’t come with the weird or bad after taste like those I had in KV. lol
