Today I’m celebrating a farewell with DL for a friend who’s about to leave for Singapore for her job. Initially we were to go Serdang for huge ass crab, but they ran out of crabs. This place was recommended by DL as alternative, which is nearby to his place.
... dunno what nuts was given as tidbits. Definitely wasn't my favourite.
... the restaurant's branding dish.
... check out that big prawn.
... another look at it. The soup was supposed to be clear. The prawns' roe made it cloudy.
... cellophane noodles (冬粉) for the soup.
... the 2 monkeys wanted me to snap this.
... they were so excited about playing with cellophane noodles (冬粉).
... fried beancurd with stuff inside it. Below my expectation though, so I had to soak it with the chili sauce given.
... forgotten what vege was this.
... meat crab in sweet sour sauce.
... each prawn was split into half.
... close up on the prawn.
... the prawn so big, could barely fit into my bowl.
... look at those roe. I could see C-H-O-L-E-S-T-E-R-O-L.
... a lot of meat and roe, just how I like it.
... it was big and juicy.
The soup prawn clay pot with cellophane noodles (冬粉) was kinda special. It has some Chinese liquor in it and it tasted weird to me. I guess it’s an acquired taste. The soup was pepper based, which means it’s spicy. It looked like curry because of the roe from the big prawns. There were 3 prawns in it, 1 for each of us. The crabs was nicely cooked and the pincers were big. My favourite would be the meat and roe filled crab shell. Oh heavenly!
